Default Step by Step help....pretty please :)

I will be changing my jets on my V-Force soon and adding dual exhaust. If anyone can add helpfull hints or a short step by step instruction on how to get access to my carbs and changing the jets. Also when I change the exhaust are there any gaskets on the header that need to be changed or is there one? This is all new terroritory for me and I want it to go smoothly. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Just did, he doesn't have this info for the V-700 or it seems for the P-650. I can't seem to find much info for the P650 anymore on his site, weird.

Jeting
My dad helped me rejet my P650 so i can try and help. Do you have a service manual?

1.Drain carbs.(if the v is like the p the drain line is by the skid plate.)

2.Remove the 8 float bowl screws, be carful they are tight and will strip. Get replacments, allen.

3.Check gaskets, if damaged replace.

4.Unscrew the main jet. Replace with main jet.

5. Put it back together.
Hope this helps, it should give you a rough idea.

Yes, that helps. Thanks. If anyone has any more tips please give them up, especially V-Force tips, but P650 tips will work well too.

Thanks again.

To get to the mains on the V700 is very easy, pull the plastic thats around the airbox off, remove that little black plastic piece on the right side where the fuel petcock is, it has 2 screws holding it on, and remove the exhaust boot off the tranny by loosing the 2 clamps and pull it off and there the 2 float bowls are. Just get a long screw driver and dont strip them out, only takes me 10 min total to change the jets out.

Just take the plastic that covers the air box off, take the black plastic trim piece on the side off and remove the rubber boot attached to the CVT cover and you'll be looking right at the bottom of the carbs.
