stalling ?

I'm not the best mechanic so I explain my problem the best I can. when I forst start the vforce its fine stays fine when I'm riding but after a good 15-20 min of WOT the bike will just stall unless I feather the throttle. When it stalls it wont restart unless I hold the throttle wide open, soon as I let off the throttle it will just stall. So my expierence with carburated cars tells me its getting to much fuel
so could I just drill holes into the air box to get more air in and would that help it? I ride by myself so I have noone to take it for a spin and say this is what your problem is so I turn to my fellow ATV ers for some help..

I am not sure but do you use the choke. Mine started doing this after I used the choke a couple of times. I usually don't need to use the choke. I would check and make sure it is firing on both cylinders. I just put my hand over the exhaust for a few seconds and you can tell because one is a lot colder than the other. Since you have worked on cars when it idles pull the spark plug wire of and see if it still idles. I would guess this is your problem. They claim you can change the choke spring and it may go away if you just keep using the choke. I tore my bike all the way appart and didn't find anything wrong. I turned the choke on and off a couple of times and it cleaned out and I just don't use the choke anymore.

I don't really work on cars but when something is wrong I have to learn to fix it myself. I never used the choke even if after sitting It wont start if I have the choke on so I never used it. I will try the spark plug thing next time I take it out. would runing too rich cause that type of problem? I had my plugs foul on me when I took it to the dealer they said nothing was wrong ( can't depend on them especially warrenty work) they said I had the idle **** turned up to much causing the fouling I assume thats the carb adj skrew I see people talking about on the forum? is there another way to adjust this correctly? thanks mx700 for your help.

Yeah, Kawasaki dealer turned the idle down on my 400 too, then it would idle to low and almost stall out. I turned it right back up and have had no problems at all. I would check my idle if I were you, could be an easy fix.

The idle wont make it die at speed or any rpm except idle, if ur choke is sticking open it will flood itself and there is some other springs to install if the choke plungers arent closing all the way. I have replaced several of these springs on the 650's but not on the 700's yet. Have u done any mods to the mach?

Kawimech, no mods done it doesn't die when i'm on the throttle just when I let off to come to a stop. I just goes into a stall and has a hard time restarting unless I hold down the throttle.

It sounds to me like it is leaning out after a hard ride, hence the stalling. Not enough fuel to keep it running or restarting. I would check the plugs after a wide open run, especially after you mention this happens after 15-20 minutes of running. That means the bike is well warmed up. You may check your fuel filter as well and make sure its not plugged up with crud. Keep up posted.

These are the same exact symptoms I was having when I was haveing a problem with chock. If you pay attention you will actualy feel the other cylinder kick in when you hit a certain rpm. it is stange and took me a couple of days to find out what the problem was. It would stall at idle and run perfect with a little bit of throughtle. I think that it was flooding out at idle being to rich because the choke was on for one cylinder. I also had to hold the gas wide open to get it to start when it was doing this. I also had to turn my idle up since it was taking more fuel for only one cylinder to run my bike. I changed all of the jetting and actualy moved my needles from carb to carb thinking somthing might have been bent or boken.

KAWIMECH The shifter on my vforce now moves when I try to shift it into gear what happened was IT wouldn't go into reverse so I guess i applied a little to much force so now the whole thing moves. Since you work for kawasaki will they cover that under warrenty or is there a way to fix this? Also does anyone know the part # for the seat I kind tore it up in a wipeout.
