Default P650/700 V700 Flywheel puller questions

I'm on a search for an economical flywheel puller for our engine. The Kawi tool is $114. That is ridiculous. I can fab one myself for a lot less I expect.

My questions are: Does anyone know the thread size of the center bolt and the threaded part on the Flywheel itself? I found a few pullers under $20 on the web that might work...

I'm hoping someone else (like Alltoys) has an engine open that can measure them or knows already.

Nyroc, no info, or did I miss it?

Otherwise, I will find out by pulling it apart myself. I was hoping to have the puller beforehand though.

DWB,
Trying to install a 6* offset key are we Ha Ha. The Kawi puller is a dedicated unit I would suggest you get one there is no place to grab onto the outside of the flywheel with a fingered puller. If you put any heavy scratchs or nicks it could affect where the pick up takes its reading from.

I agree and that is not what I had in mind.

The inside center of the flywheel is threaded correct? The tool threads onto that and then has a threaded bolt that pushes on the crank to pull it off, yes?

If I knew what mm the threading was then I could see if one of these other pullers matches. The picture of the non-kawi ones look similar in design to the kawi tool. I am hoping I will get lucky. Otherwise, yes I will probably order one if I can't fab one. I already have hook pullers and I wouldn't use that either.

Have you found anyone making full offset keys or are they just filing the stock one?

DWB,
If you go to a sled shop they have offset keys from 3.33 to 4.44mm or roughly 4* to 6* offset half keys. You can also use the original key take off 1mm or roughly 0.030inches it is a 4mm key you will have to jam the key to the left side of the shaft make sure you thread lock it in. If you can wait till tomorow I will PM you the info on the dimensions of the puller I made I cut my own threads on the puller as I could not find a die for that size of thread for that dimension of material.

Thanks. I didn't get it yet, but, I bet it says 35mm x 1.5 external right?

I have a bead on one for a reasonable price. I will post the results and link to the product once I prove it is the right one.

The place is close to my house even. So, I should have it soon if they have them in stock.

Okay, I finally got my grubby hands on the puller.

You can see a picture of it here.

I have not used it yet, but, I am confident that it is the right one (order at your own risk at this point). I will confirm later. The packaging states Kawi 4x4 and others have provided me with accurate specs on the puller which match this one.

I found it here. You have to click the "Find a dealer to purchase accessory items" link. Then plug in your state. I found a dealer locally that was able to order it in for me for $51.25. You may find it for less though. Regardless, that is better than $114.

DWB,
I definately like your pirce as opposed to the 114 dollar one. They are roughly the same it will work though the Kawi one has another piece that fits inside not necessary for the Kawi. Looks good did you find some offset keys for the Kawi, sled keys work I have ordered a 4.44 key they range from 2.44mm, 3.33mm, to 4.44mm giv e them a try it is easier than filing the orginal but can be done.
