Default 1999 Suzuki quad runner f160

Does anyone know what would cause the fly wheel to bind I don’t believe the motor is locked I can turn it over by hand partially but can’t get to the t mark on the flywheel whether I turn it left or right it binds about a 2 inches before hitting the mark on both side i can’t check the timing without getting to the t mark and I’ve took the starter off to remove starter gear to see if it would spin completely and still won’t any suggestions on what it would be or what I could try?
Thanks
i did remove the tensioner and the plunger was stuck as well

Not sure if your flywheel has naked magnets, but Eigers were prone to a magnet or three dropping off and jamming between the next magnet and the stator coils. On Hondas I have had a starter clutch bolt come loose, again jamming on the stator coils. Finally, if timing has slipped, the piston could be hitting an open valve as it gets close to TDC.

Thank you for your suggestion and useful information wasn’t sure how to take the thread down on this site ,yesterday evening I removed the cylinder and turns out it was just a broken valve laying on the piston after removing it I was able to get a full rotation I also cleaned the cam chain tensioner and lubed the plunger and it is in working order. Will be waiting on a new exhaust and intake valve, while looking for a new piston and rings while I’m down this far.if you could point me in the right direction for older pistons I would appreciate it

Suzuki still sell pistons and rings. You may be able to get aftermarket, such as Namura from the non genuine spares suppliers. EBay traders are another source of non genuine stuff. Check if it is still standard bore, before ordering the new piston and rings.
