Default on-trail shifter adjustment

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Went for a ride Sunday with a bunch of buddies. Of course, no one can keep up to the mighty 650, so it was kinda embarrassing when I got stuck in the first good mudhole when my shift linkage suddenly refused to stay in low gear. We managed to winch it out to dry ground, and I tore it down while the others played. I was very impressed to find that the Kawi tool kit under the seat had all the necessary tools in it to adjust the linkage and get it going again. Also, was the first good ride with the Elka front springs, and I gotta say I like 'em. Only bottomed out a couple times(need to crank up the preload a bit), and hanled much nicer on rutted root filled corners. Overall, felt much better than the stockers.

Ok, Now for the most often asked qusetion about replaceing the P650's front springs. How is the ride in general affected as far as stiffness. I would like to decrease the dive and push of the Prairie, but it is not so bad as to put up with a stiffer ride on moderate trail riding.
