Default Prairie 650: Belt "Squeal" v. Belt "Chirp"

Hi

I hope somebody has an answer for this one - I have reviewed a lot of posts about squealing belts and understand that if a belt is loose, it will "squeal" on takeoff . . . I have notice my P650 belt will "chirp" for a split second before takeoff if I give it a lot of throttle from a standstill . . . any idea if this is a sign of a loose belt or something normal that happens when the belt engages?

Any insight would be appreciated before I start taking things apart

Thanks!

you could probably remove a shim... they don't squak normally if the belt is tight... this will shorten your belt life significantly, if you don't correct it...WAM

just goy my bike back from shop because of a bad squiling and my belt was wore slap out.the shop put on a new belt and really tightened the belt this time.mechanic told me that the book called for 25mm of deflection and they set mine at 10mm of deflection.he said they done this so that when the belt gets a little break in on it it wont be too loose.so far so good.my bike hasnt run this good since i bought it.the back shifting is unreal.my belt was way out of adjustment from the factory and i was running 27"blackwaters,with those two factors the belt didnt have a chance.so i went back to stock 25"ITP589's and ITP ATR's and had a new belt put on last week and so far its been great.BTW,i shaved off 24 pounds when i went from the 27" tires to the 25"tires.WOW.
