Default FMF Jet Kit....way overpriced!!

I received my FMF jet kit from rockymountainatv.com. Don't but this kit, save yourself $30.00 and buy the so called K & N kit. I have now bought both thinking that the FMF kit came with new slide return springs, it does not. Both of these kits are made by dynojet and include exactly the same parts, only the FMF kit is priced thirty bucks higher, FMF must think their stickers are worth $30.00 because thats the only difference. I had ordered the kit needing the return spring because mine broke, now I won't be able to ride this weekend and that makes two weeks in a row...I need an extra quad.

I ordered the FMF jet kit 9/20/03 part # 011735. This is the exact same kit I purchased from you and sold as dynojet a while back for $30.00 cheaper. They are both manufactured by dynojet and come with the exact same parts at a $30.00 mark-up. The reason I ordered the FMF kit was I really needed the slide return springs pictured in the FMF kit on your web site, and they are not included in this kit. I paid extra for second day shipping so I could use the kit to repair my bad spring for this weekend. I would really appreciate some feedback on this issue. I normally have great luck with your company but this kit is a joke, as a service to your customers you should remove the listing for the FMF kit; belive me it's exactly the same kit(unless FMF considers their stickers to be worth $30.00 more than dynojets). Your customers deserve to be given the best service, and by selling the FMF kit marked up $30.00 over the dynojet it's just not right.
That was my post.....The following was their reply......

I've been checking into the jet kit for you. They are both manufactured by Dyno Jet, so you are receiving the same jets. However, we buy the K & N from K & N, and they charge a little less than the ones that we buy from FMF. After checking into the prices of both kits, then I found that we have been losing money on the K & N kits, because we have them listed way below cost. They should actually only be about $10 less than the FMF. And the picture of the FMF kit is a generic picture, and not all of the kits will come with the slide springs. I'm going to let our graphics department know that the picture needs to be changed. So I can credit you the $10 difference between the FMF kit and the K & N kit, then I can credit you the $13.81 that you paid for 2-day air. I'm very sorry for the problem with your order. I'm very glad that you brought this to our attention, because we have been losing money on the K & N kit due to an error in receiving. Please let me know if you would like me to credit your card for the $23.81.
If you have any questions, please email me.
Thank you,

The K & N kits are still $30.00 less on their site, I guess if you need a jet kit for the V now's the time to order before they jack the prices up...

Hey good thread, and you should consider yourself lucky that whoever you purchased from was a class act to handle it professionally.

For the next guy I would suggest buying the individual parts from an afordable and knowledgeable source and save yourself even more.

Jets run from under $3 to $12 and the only difference is usually where you buy them.
