I just picked up a used 400 prairie. There is oil leaking somewhere between the bottem of the motor and the skid plate. Has any one else had this problem with there prairie? I was told it could be a factory defect in how the robot that puts the epoxy seal down sometimes gets air in the lines and dosnt get a good seal? Its out of warranty but this atv went into service last august. It has hardly been used. Any thouhgts on what is leaking?

Could be a gasket or more than likely a poorly threaded drain plug.

Remove the drain plug for inspection. If it looks fine, you may just want to take the bike to the dealer for further examination.

Usually they pack the engine in there so tight, you can't see jack without removing a ton of stuff.

I have had that happen numerous times mine is still under warranty so I took it in and they said it was coming from the overflow tube which makes sense cause i had just changed the oil and i think i over filled it. then it happened again when i was taking it off the trailer on a real steep incline. thats probably whats happening to yours look for the tube between your swingarm and the bottom of your airfilter housing probably nothing to worry about
