P700 Water in front Dif ?
#1
I did my 10 hr service tonight and the front dif oil looked milky, so I am assuming I ended up with water in dif.
I rode through water this weekend but nothing deeper than 4 or 5" over floorboards. I relly dont think that is to deep is it?
Any suggestions as to things i can look for as to where the water is making its way in?
I hope it is somthing simple. I am going to ride this weekend and then check it again to make sure it is not a fluke.
Is the vent tube set low?
Thanks for any replies
Peace

First is you will get more water in when your bike is new because your front diff is hotter and the water cools it quicker and the vent tub can suck in water. Also look at your threads and make sure they are tight. Look around your axle for leaks. Also it doesn't take much water to make it go milky.

TRX 450 is right about the color of the lube...
the vent tubes all run to the handlebar stem, & are just under the top of the plastic there... as far as water getting in, there is a chance, that if you didn't suck some in the vent, that it could have come in around the 2 X 4 / 4 X 4 engagement actuator... this is the biggest gasketed hole in the front end
