i was just wondering because i never had a chance to ride a mijave yet

 

I belive the Mojave should edge-out the Z250 in top speed. ATV Action just did a shoot out between the Z250 and the 250EX (Honda). The 250EX was quite a bit faster than the Z250. Since the Mojave is pretty even (if not a little faster) than the 300EX, the Mojave should easily edge-out the Z250 in a drag race.

The Z-250 is based off of a farm implement quad. Being shaft drive is nice though.

I Know the Mo is much quicker and has more top speed.

Friend bought a Z-250. It's a nice bike but not a real fast one.

 

sorry to tell you HareScrambleRacer, but ive raced the 250ex a bunch of times, and from experience, i can assure you that the Z250 is a little bit faster all around, top speed and acceleration. And That article was by Dirt Wheels. As for the mojave, i havent had a chance to race one yet. Everyone is telling me that the mojave is a piece of crap but i dont think so. so does anyone know from experience how fast the mojave top speed is? and how fast is its acceleration.

 

The mojave top speed is 58 mph. It is governed by the cdi, It cuts off the spark at a preset rpm. Something like 8000 rpm.

Has 12/43 gearing, 5th gear is not 1-1 like most other bikes, it's underdriven. 5th is more like 4th in most bikes and transmission has very close ratios. Due to being underdriven it will accelerate very quick for only a 250. Mine with a pipe will run with a 400ex untill I run out of gear with my 180 lbs on it.

Has double overhead cams, 4 valves and 11-1 compression stock.

On my lakota, I have raced a 250ex (dozens) of times....and a Z250 3 times
these are with my current mods....

All riders above average....


The Honda, actually gave me the most run, it accerated right with me...till about top of 4th gear...then I went to 5th and the honda was done....(straight drags, down a road, half mile)
we raced a few times......same results...

Then the Z..........I was nervous...because i originally thought it was faster than the honda....
its not........We got about an equal start....then in about 4th again....i smoked him....
my kota clocked at 56.7mph on a straight road (22inch tires)

SO this all being said......the LIGHTER, MORE HOP up responsive...yea....a stock mojave should be able to crush you...(no offense) the the manuel and gear ratio should take ya.....then if theres a mojave with similar mods to my lakota....dont bother to race....
I hope this can maybe help you out a bit~~ but i do love the honda and Z they are fun trail bikes
OH AND HEY!!.....those whove never seen a DG V-PRO bumper on a mo or kota.....mine looks SWEEET!!

ok the mojave is faster thanks, but please dont tell me the honda is because ive raced a lot of times(both stock). heres how i know: I have a Z, my Friend has 250ex. I raced him and i beat him really bad. then we raced again and again and i still beat him. then we switched. i was riding the honda, he was riding my Z. This is the strange part. I beat him but it was real close. We raced about 3-4 times and always had the same result. So from my expierience, im good at racing, but i had a bigger advantage with my Z then on the Ex because the Z is a little faster.

 

Mojave vs Z250, there is no comparison, the Mojave will walk away..........
