Is that every year, or was that your first for the V? I know that registering a truck is MUCH cheaper in Utah.

Ahhh, quit your belly achin' already!
Personally, I would not mind paying those kind of atv registration/property tax fees that you guys have in Calif. and Utah if my state owned/maintained some great riding areas for quads to ride on...(I assume that at least some of the wonderful ridiing areas in Calif. and Utah that I've read about in the atv magazines are on government-owned land - But please correct me if I'm wrong here!)
Here in TX, we don't have high atv registration fees and we have absolutely no property tax on atvs....but the downside is that there are VERY FEW good riding areas in TX that are on government-owned land. Except for the sand dunes in Kermit, TX and many Tx rivers which are shallow enough to ride in, almost all of the good quad riding areas in Tx are located on private land (some of which are open to the public for a fee, of course). To make matters worse, Tx just passed a new law that will ban all ATVs, Jeeps, etc. from most Texas rivers as of 1/1/04.
I'm not trying to be a smart aleck here... I just hope you fellas in Calif. and Utah will reconsider the "high" cost of owning a quad in your respective state b/c the alternative (living in a state with cheap fees like TX) is not always a good bargain when you consider the available riding areas that are government-owned.
