Prairie 650 V-Twin vs Prairie 700 V-Twin
Hello everyone,
I'm sure this topic has come up several times and what I'm looking for is honesty. Now with that said, has anyone ridden both machines, one after the other? If so, can you tell me if the Prairie 700 has a noticable power advantage over the Prairie 650? is the power noticable down low, mid range, top end or throughout the powerband?
Thank you for your information.

The 700 has more low, mid, & top end power...but...
the low end power is only a little noticable, as wheel spin ( traction is the same on both machines )... adding a Hole Shot module to the 650, will put them close on the bottom end... however you can also put that Hole Shot module on the 700, for even more bottom end...
The mid range power is very noticable, as once the tires have stopped spinning, the 700 will pull soundly away from the 650...
That increased power, carries through to the top end, until the timing retarding eventually steals enough power, that both machines top out at nearly the same speed...
With a totally stock 650 & 700, lined up for a drag, the 700 will win by several lengths every time, because of that use able power ( with traction ), of the midrange on the 700

I own both of the quads and there is a huge difference in the two. There is for starters nearly 8 more horsepower on the 700 and this is huge percentage. I have a holeshot and some clutch work done to my 650 and it is NO comparison to the 700(bone stock). The prairie even with the hs mod it still isn't like the 700 in the low end. The 700 can do a wheelie at 20 mph where the 650 can't do it past 7ish. I feel that is a big difference. Top speed is close but the 700 has it there to 68 so far vs 64 on the 650 those numbers were checked with a gps so you know. I feel the 700 is far better than the 650 it is snappy off the line no screwing just plain ***** and gets. Hope this helps you.

NewBeatle & Prairie650&700,
Thank you for your answers. This information helps me a great deal. I had to sell my 650 due to hardship. I finally got on my feet and will be purchasing a new machine next year. My main interest is having the power down low because of the hill climbs that I go up.
The 700 sounds like an excellent machine.
Thanks again!,

I have a P650 and a 700. I dragged my friend on my 700 and we were pretty even. He has a 650.
Perhaps it is the diff. in body weight?
I wiegh 190 and he is only 160.
Any ideas?

p.s. having a hard time choosing b/t 26vs27 inch mudlites.
I use mine mostly for trails and hunting.
