Hello mojave junkies
i have been search the forum for the keyword mojave to read and get more information on this modell. I own a 96 and want a little more power. Here in germany ,where i live the atv scene is still growing but the mojave is very rare so there also the situation of information.
So here my questions:
-What kind of carburator mean "400ex" , which modell was it orignal perhabs also in some motorcycles from Kawa or Honda or...?
-Is it right, is there an electric starter kit in the US , have somebody more information?
-To get the KLR 250 CDI here in Gemany , i need the letters on the Box, can write anybody the scipt on it here?or more then once from two different boxes ,so my chance is better to get one from a used part dealer.
You can also write directly to me :tomaro@gmx.net
Thank you.
Mojaveaddict, congratulations to your projects ,i have seen the pics and it looks very good and i think it go also fast as it looks.
So happy new year and much more time to work on your Kawas

Don't bother with an electric starter. Its a waste of money that could be better spent on skid plates and tires. For the KLR box, why do you want it? Is you Mojave modded? If not then don't bother, the Mojave revs plently high stock. Change your earign if you want more top sped. If you really wan tthe KLR box than check ebay, they are on there all the time.
For carbs the 400EX carb is supposed to be a good hop-up, but I have not seen a write up on it anyhwhere so who knows about jetting or other problems.

Rockrider is right, the electrice start kit works ok ( made by Goki) but the battery has to be put up on the nose between the front shocks, and unless you have the stator rewound for a charge circuit, you will need to recharge the battery manually to keep the starter working, more hassle than kicking it over, I'm sure. The Honda TRX400ex is an atv, the carb from that quad is what you have heard about, lots of those carbs on ebay, you should be able to find one. Unless you put a pipe and free flowing filter system on, you will need to jet down a bigger carb to work with your Mojave.
