Default P700 vs. Warrior

Got to drag race my buddy today. He's on his modified Warrior, and I was on my bone-stock Prairie 700. We were on pavement, at about 2,000 feet elevation. Both of us weigh the same. I smoked him on 3 out of 4 races. The Prairie jumped out to a quick 30 foot lead, and stayed there. I didn't realize this machine can wheelie the way it does, even after putting the 27 pound winch and associated hardware on the front. It'll put you on your backside if you're not careful. My only loss was when I wheelied off the side of the road and almost crashed. The Warrior seemed to have about a one mph higher top speed, but after about 1/2 mile, he was still way back there. I was ascending a very slight incline, and the Prairie topped out at an indicated 64 mph.

Next came the hill climb. Heading up a 800 foot sandy mountainside was our goal. We had a Suzuki LT250, a Warrior, a Blaster, and my Prairie. Nobody had paddle tires, and admittedly, this may have changed things, but as it was, only the 4X4 Prairie summited that mountain today.

How does your Sportsman compare to the 700 in terms of speed and power?

I took out the P700 and ran with a Warrior and my Raptor the other day. I was breaking in the P700 so couldn't really put it down, but I still was able to roost mud all over the other quads, all day long!
At every ()beer) break they were complaining about always being in the wrong gear...
Yesterday the Warrior owner told me he looking into a P700 or VForce.....ha!

PADZZ, this was my first time taking both quads somewhere that wasn't a rock crawling trail ride. In terms of power and speed, you can't even compare the Prairie with the Sportsman. It's that much faster. Of course, it's also 200 cc bigger, and 95 lbs lighter.

I, too, had occasion to race a heavily modified Warrior on my p700. The challenge was, and I quote the little sh*$: "Hey mister, wanna run that tractor against my yami?" He was duly embarrassed when I waited for him at the end of the run.

What do you all consider to be a "Heavily Modded" Warrior? Just curious is all. I've never raced against anyone other than my cousin's 250X and his friends banshee. I dusted the 250x pretty bad, but not as bad as the banshee dusted me. I was running the setup in my sig except for the gearing, which was stock at the time. My cousin's X was fully stock except a 12T front sprocket and the banshee had at least pipes, but not sure what else. The banshee was riding double too LOL

Next time I'm out at my riding spot I'll have to see about racing some people.
