Default New Prairie 700

Hello

Just joined .Great forum

I just picked up my new p700 yesterday... Boy this thing is unbeleivable how fast it is. Just a few questions to the p700 and 650 owners.. I haven.t got to ride mine much we got alot of ice here in central Indiana today. But I can.t wait to get it out and really see what it will do. I just put a set of c series wheels on it with 26 inch mudlites
I own a kvf 400 prairie also just became my wifes

Just curious how you guys like you v twin prairies. And has anyone had any trouble with theres. We do alot of deep mudhole riding and creek riding here in Lynn. Indiana has anyone had any problems with there prairie in mud and muck up to the fenders.

Just curious on how you guys or ladies like yours. And how they perform. I guess I would just like some answers since I haven.t had mine out yet Iam very impatient can.t wait to get it out.

Thanks for a great forum.
Coyotecaller.

Welcome,

You got the machines!
I put 24,000km on my KVF400 (and sold it)
I put 20,000km on KVF650 (still have it I can not part from it)
I put 1,000km on my KVF700 (had for approx. 1 month)

I love the Praire line... My 700 had very tight valves from factory. I would keep you rad clean and for serious muddn i would us a cooling agent only when it's warm... you don't want it to freeze in your bike.

I run 28 ITP in the snow... they got a little more ground clearance than my 25 mudrunners but you should be all right with the 26.

I love my P-700. I have owned 3 KAW V-twins in the last 1 1/2yrs.
I ride some mud in S.E. Oh, and the Hat/McCoy Trails. It is a pretty good mudder. Not as good as the IRS bikes in the mud, though.
Enjoy the toy!

I LOVE my P700!!! I've owned mine about 3 months now, and have had it over the front fenders in mud/water, and I've only been stuck twice... and I still have the stock tires on!! I have found the secret is to hit the mud with a little speed, and just nail the throttle... I usually skim the surface and never really sink in!!

As far as DEEP water.. I was just in some on Sunday... we were riding down a partially frozen stream to try and clean the bikes off, when I hit a deep hole and water was over the front fenders... I nailed the throttle, and hopped onto the seat with my knees.... the front climbed skyward as the front tires swam, so I stood on the rear rack and kept the throttle about 2/3 pinned.... the butt was completely under water over the gas cap!! I had to rock it side to side to walk it out to shallower area... and firmer ground. I must have hit a muddy hole or a deep rut or something under the water... as normally it's just a rocky gravel bottom...

But my P700 has always done well... just learn to use that power along with the Diff lock quickly before you think your stuck... my motto is... if it looks deep... "lock and power!!"
