Default P700 4X4

I am new to the 4x4 quads. I have an 04 p700 is it normal for the thing to take forever to go into four wheel drive? It usually comes right out of four wheel but takes forever to go in. Why does it do that? The quad has 12 hr and 130 miles.
PLEASE HELP!!!

There is a delay to engage.... it is no minute but I would say 3-10 seconds when moving very slowly. My bike seems to like it when just coasting at 5km with front tires straight and rolling a little. I know it doesn't properly engage if the ATV is stopped until the front tires move a bit. It's best to flip to 4wd before you need it. It will go out of 4wd very fast stopped or moving less than 20km.
