I finally received the P700 stock belt in the mail, and last night, I compared its width to my P650 stock belt. I was dissappointed to find that my P650 belt (with 400 miles on it) was only 0.5 mm narrower than the new P700 belt (with 0 miles). I measured my used P650 belt at 28 mm wide and the new P700 belt at 28.5 mm wide. I bought the P700 belt because I heard it was wider (and more durable) than the P650 belt...which I believe will result in higher top-speeds. However, I'm not sure that this P700 belt will actually be wide enough to make any measureable difference in my top-speed. I plan to do some timed drag tests soon to find out for sure.

Does anyone know how wide the P360 belt is? Does anyone know how wide a P650 belt is when brand new (0 miles)? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

MIKEYBOYESQ... the 360 belt is the same width as the 700 belt, but it is the same "diamond" shape as the 650 belt, rather than the more "wedge" shape of the 700 belt... that is why I've been looking for other belts, in the 1st place... SORRY MAN... I'll be picking up the test belts today... they are 1/8" to 1/4" wider... some are proportionally longer as well... look for test results soon...WAM

 

I tried the 360 belt on my prairie when under load it would chirp and slip,but I didn't take any shims out for deflection.I put the 700 belt on and the deflection is perfect,and it does not slip under any conditions.The 360 belt is longer,one thing I noticed.I took the belt off the V to just clean the clutches and for some reason this belt is alot harder to get off.I didn't have the old 650 belt to compare to but it almost seemed it was shorter or something?One thing I know gained nothing on top end with the 360 belt,but got 3mph out off the 700 belt.Maybe this will help someone before they buy a belt.
