Do P700 or V-Force Clutches fit in P650?
#1
I was wondering if it was possible to swap my P650 primary clutch for a P700 or V-Force primary clutch (I don't mind losing low range)? And which belt is the best for my P650?

Yes to both... in fact, your '02 model Prairie has a poorly designed secondary clutch ( they wear out prematurely, & are not rebuildable ), if you replace your secondary clutch, you will automatically be upgraded to the '03 style of clutch... the 700 clutch will slide right in, I have a 700 Primary & '03 secondary already in my '02 Prairie ( I am going to do some custom machining to my stock primary, & was told that a machinist can rebuild my '02 secondary )... The V Force primary is nearly identical to the Prairies ( the base clutch may even be the same part number ??? ), however the Primary cover doesn't have the KBEC bearing pressed into it, as the V Force doesn't have the KBEC system...
The 700 belt is the most refined, it is a much better belt than the 650 belt... the 360 belt is much improved as well, over the 650 belt... both of these belts will go right in place of the 650 belt, however they are a little wider, requiring an additional spacer in the secondary, to properly set the deflection... these wider belt will probably offer you an additional 1-2 mph top speed, as well as providing greater durability...
The low range will not be effected by switching CVT clutches or replacing with either of these belts

Thank You very much Newbeatle.
So, the best set-up will be a P700 primary and secondary clutch with a P700 belt.
Newbeatle, are you having the cover plate of the primary clutch machined? Because Dalton Industries offers a lightweight cover for competition use for the V-force that fits the P700 primary clutch.
