Default Mohave Carb Idle Question

Hey all you Mohave carb experts! I need some help. I have a 1-year old carb that has difficulty returning to idle. After revving to 3000-4000 rpm and letting off it takes a while to go from 2300 down to 15-1600. The cable is lubed and the linkage is adjusted. The idle screw is set correctly. I sprayed silicone lube on the return spring....any ideas?

Sounds still like your cable could be sticking
How old is it?? If its older just buy a new one to be sure since they arent very much money!

I agree replace your cable. I haven't put a twist throttle on my mojave, but have riden quads with them and didn't care for it. I've riden motorcycles for years and don't have a problem with twist throttles on m/c. But, I just didn't like them on a quad. JMO

We have put thumb savers on 2 of our quads. Both my daughter (7) and my wife love them. It has allowed us to go out on 2 plus hours rides instead of the 30-45 min rides. That's when my daughter would complain about her thumb hurting.

If the cable is adjusted right, and it still does it, try leaning out the pilot circuit, and check the float level, it could be high.

Running lean cause it to take awhile to idle back down. If this happened without any changes to the jetting, carb, air filter, etc. then you may have developed a vacumn leak. I have seen a couple of the rubber intake boots that the carb mounts in crack and cause this. It could be the slide or cable sticking as well.

Thanks everyone. I'll try those ideas. By the way 'addict, Greg @ cwr did a great job on my head and cams. I also hooked up the crankcase breather like you recommended. A little tight around the bottom of the tank, but so far so good.
