Default belt removal

Once you've got it going, you can bump the starter and it'll come right off.

You must be talking about the v-force because if you bump the starter on the prairie you would have to turn the key on which would unspool the KEBC. I always take the key out of the ignition when I take my cover off.

kfx400guy.... When I replaced my driven spring I also took out both shims. This left my belt so tight it would pull my 5x10 trailer loaded with about 200# of tools and my two kids around my yard AT IDLE! Needless to say my belt was way too tight. Even with the belt that tight I was able to use the instructions posted by Nyroc and others without a problem. On one note after I was done I did think about using a tie-wrap around the belt and using that as a handle to pull the belt over the sheave half. this should eliminate any finger grab.

if you have or can get the primary puller bolt, you only need to take the front pulley off, that free you belt up.

Guys don't worry about it. I got my puller bolt and black spring today. I took the primary off and the secondary. All I need now is some circlip pliers.

If you had this much trouble pulling your belt. You will have a heck of a time removing that clip. Buy good snapring pliers for this.

I just went to sears and got the best one they had. The ones with the interchangable tips. I just used the straight ones, with really hard tips. Have you made the compression tool yet ?

I didn't use anything but a socket. I just started turning the pulley, and pulled the belt towards the outside of the pulley, while I was turning it, It took a slight amount of effort, but it did come off!
