i heard through the grapevine that they were coming out with this in the fall of 04. i called kawa and they wont admit to anything until it hits the floor in the showroom. im going to buy a atv soon and i like the ac 650 for now but, if they were going to make this beast i may wait. does anyone have any connections to ad to the rumor mill? thanks

 

I have heard the same rumor, and the source was a very good one. I would love to see it myself. I personally am a straight axle kind of guy, but I would give it some thought if Kawi was to make one. I am a loyal Kawi man and will always be. If I were to ever buy anything but a kawi, it would be the suzuki twin peaks (kawi with suzuki sticker).

 

There has been lots of discussion of this rumor recently...I think the prevailing rumor is actually that Kaw will make both a 500cc Prairie with IRS and a 750cc EFI Prairie with IRS...however, some folks have speculated that the 500cc will definitely be IRS, but the 750cc will be solid rear axle due to weight restrictions. These are all just rumors, so who knows?

Talked to a Kawi rep at the NASCAR race last weekend. Asked about the 700 IRS for 05. He said he didn't know. I told him I had a 650 and wanted to move up but I would like IRS. I asked should I wait. He said he didn't know but it would not hurt to wait. Read into that what you want, but I'm waiting. He said new models come out in July.

Supposedly there is gonna be two different models, one with IRS and another with SRA. That will be a great option for those who want a sport utility atv and for those who want a more utility oriented can have the IRS.

 

NO, there will not be a 700 IRS! Actually it will be a 750 EFI and will be offered in both solid axle and IRS!!! It will also have shocks up front instead of struts, a little different plastics and will also be offered in LIME GREEN! Ok, I've said more than I should and I will probley be in trouble for it but I just can't hold back,,, I had to tell someone! LOL!!!!

 

Ok, sign me up for a lime green 750 EFI with IRS. I'll take the first one at my dealership.

Seriously! I went and looked at an Arctic Cat 650 just two nights ago, after tearing up my Grizzly pretty badly doing some rock crawling. I love my Grizzly, but those stupid PLASTIC floorboards just don't hold up for rock crawling. I'm tired of replacing floorboard supports and trying to re-fasten plastic parts that get torn off in the rocks. That Arctic Cat 650 with its STEEL nerf bar style running boards was looking mighty good, ...

But if there will be a lime green 750 EFI IRS Kawi with front shocks instead of struts, that would be even better [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]. I need to stop by the local Kawi/Yamaha dealer on Friday to pick up some parts I have had on order, so I will just plan on telling him to put my name at the top of the list for the 750 Kawi. Of course he'll say "what 750 Kawi?". I'll just have to tell him it is the one he hasn't heard of yet, LOL.
