What's the purpose of shimming the needles? Is there no more grooves left in the needles to put the circlip?

OK

Thanks to all for helping!

It runs great now. I don't know what I did must have been some dirt or an air leak. I took it all apart removed the bowls and slides, cleaned everything with carb cleaner, put it all back together, started and ran great none of the problems as before.

Once back together I made a 58 mph run down the street before needing to shut it down and it was still pulling.

Now all I need is the ups man to show up.
