i was ridin the other day with some friends and turned the engine off to let it cool down and then i tried to start it bak up and it wouldnt start and ym friend said "u have gas leakin" and it was comming form the everflow valve hooked to the bottom of the carb. wut happened?? and how can i fix it??

 

Your floats are stuck open, tapp on the carb with the end of a screw driver, then see if its still leaking, if so, pull the plastic off, tilt the carb to the side so the bottom is facing you, pull those four bolts out and there should be two things that are plastic peices (you will know what i am talking about) make sure they can be move up and down, but be careful not to let them fall out, if so dont worry just slide the metal peice back in, you should be able to figure out how its simple. then put it back together, and if it still leaks you have a bad float stopper, while you take it apart it wouldnt be a bad idea to spray some carb cleaner in it. and clean it all up. i will try to find a carb diagram, it wouldnt be a bad idea to buy a serivce manual for future problems.

 

Float Valve....or needle valve is what I always called it
Had to put one on my sons 98 Mo
I called the dealer and told him the symptoms, and he said "Float Valve"
Then he said "oh somebody"s been puttin ethanol in that"
This was right after I bought it a year ago. Havent had any problems since
Seems the ethanol dries up the rubber tip on the top of the float valve
And if I remember right it was 25 bucks.....what a ream.... job from the dealer

 

ya buddy its definetly your float. not everyone puts burns ethanol and you can still get it stuck. my friends bayou did it and that thing dont use ethanol

 

Same thing happened to my bike last year and I don't run ethanol in it. While I tore it apart, I rejetted it with the K&N stage 2 and never looked back. Highly recommend it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

yeah it's your float, it's too high. The same thing happened to my mojave a couple days ago.

You'll need to pull the carb and set the float height to the correct specifications. All you do is bend the little metal foat arm arm.
