Hey,
Has anybody heard of a module that makes the P-700 faster? A guy at the dealer near me said the P-700 doesn't get it's fullest potential because Kawi thinks it's to fast and if you buy a different module, it goes even faster. If you've heard of it, how do you get one and how much are they?

The module is a DG3 module from diamond G Racing in California. The price is $139.99 plus shipping and is well worth the money. You gain power all through the bottem end up to the top. My 650 would only do 63mph, and now with the module I can hit 69mph. The front end comes up with ease, but with good traction I would be very carefull not to flip it!!!!! I think shipping is $12 I've heard the Dynatek CDI is causing some machine's to back kick or something when they start (somethin to consider). If you want the DG3 call Don at 714-299-3865. good luck

Cammoman,
You are the first person I've seen report that the DG3 gave them more top-speed. Are you sure that the DG3 alone resulted in more top-speed or did you do other mods at the same time? For example, did you add a flywheel key?
The reason I ask is b/c the DG3 is widely known to benefit the bottom end and mid-range, but is still limited at the top-end by the stock cdi. In other words, I'm was under the impression that DG3 does not eliminate the top-end retarded timing which is pre-programmed into the stock cdi nor does the DG3 increase the stock cdi's rev limit. And without adding a flywheel key to advance the max ignition timing, I see no possible way that the DG3 alone can increase top-speed. Please explain this to me.

No, I did'nt do any more mods. The only thing I did was took it in and had the valves adjusted and they put a new belt on. The flywheel keys are'nt ready yet, but Don said they would be in within 4 weeks! So I'll have that installed as soon as it shows up. I did change from the stock 650 belt to the new 700 belt but that should'nt increase the top speed that much or could it?

Your top speed should increase some with a new P700 belt installed, but how much depends on how worn your old P650 belt was. When I installed my P700 belt, I only gained 1 mph on top-end (my original P650 belt was still in good shape with only 450 miles at the time). I've read that other people with a P650 have gained about 2 or 3 mph with just the P700 belt change.
Also, I noticed that I gained 1 mph of top-speed when I had my 100 hour maintenance service done (including valve adjustments). I guess the valves were off a little and the re-adjustment/maintenance helped me gain 1 more mph.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for you that you gained 6 mph on top-end, but I kinda doubt it was from the DG3 alone. I'm guessing you might even gain a little more top-speed if and when you install the flywheel key to go along with your DG3.
