Prairie 700 10 hr maintenance.
First off I would like to say that I just bought a Green Prairie 700 and have loved it so far and have had it about a week and is ready for the 10 hour maintenance. My question, is it worth paying the $100 to have them do the service or should I do it myself. I would have no problem changing the oil, spark plugs, coolant, but I am not to familiar with making any motor adjustments, if that is what they do. I heard that they have to adjust the valves, is this true, any input would be great and Thanks for your help in advance.

My dealer did my first service free of charge, I let them do it incase I had any trouble with the bike while it was still under warrenty, I did'nt want them saying it was my fault because I did'nt bring it in for it's first service. After that I have done all the maintenance, you can change the engine oil, filter, front and rear diff fluid all for about $20 bucks.
My owners manual for my 650 says to check valve clearance every year of use, probly the same for your 700. I have never had them checked and it has over 3500 miles on it now.

Had my first service lastweek,I had it done by the dealer so,, like was already said warrenty reasons. They didn't touch the valves, told me they wouldn't need adjusting until a year was up or they started "tapping"In my mind it's worth the money just to save the "warrenty" down the road.3 years is along time and alot can happen.
