I know that on the v-force...when your going down a hill on that sucker...it slips out of powerband and you can't stop worth a crap..all you can do is hold on...sometimes you have to give it gas going down hill to get it to lock up the powerband so THEN you can slow down....so how is the braking on the kfx 400??

I have always been impressed with the way my V force holds me back going down steep sand dunes. I used to have a Scrambler 500 and It did not hold you back any better. One last thing you may want to rethink your wish list the TRX 450 it has been a let down the brother has one.

The brakes on my V are some of the best I've felt. Down hills are not a problem.

Wouldn't the auto clutch make it "free wheel" down hills? Its a syntrifical(sp?) clutch design right?

learn to feather the throttle to keep it engaged and you will have engine compression holding ya the whole way down

I find the engine braking annoying on the V when going downhill.. It will slow you down, if you let off the throttle.. And when you get back on the throttle, it will slow you down even more until you get the rpm's up.

On some of the milder hill climbs i've ridden on, I don't even use my hand or foot brakes when decending. I actually find myself having to get on the throttle..

The KFX400 weighs less than the V-Force, so I assume you could stop it a little quicker...... That's just the laws of Physics and Gravity.
