Default Biggest module test yet, at the drag strip

STAKK... I talked at length with Scott, from Diamond G last night... & from talking to Don, earlier... to me it sounds like it is supposed to use the speed sensor to change the frequency ( I think up to 3 different times )... it changes at roughly 10 mph, & again at roughly 50 mph... they are doubting that it was functioning properly, & I could set the quad on jack stands to observe the LED's, frequency of blinking... the frequency should change at the above mentioned speeds ( though they don't recommend checking the higher speed, for safety reasons )... If it was not functioning properly, it could be a connection issue, or a program issue... I'll likely be going again on Friday, ( to test springs ... only on the modified quad this time ), I could test the High Lifter ICM, on my quad ( as it didn't get tested the 1st time )... if I did that, I'd likely rerun either the DG-3, or the Hole Shot, to use as a base line ( as the weather & temp conditions will change things, & I'll likely be running my 26" MTR's )...

appearently there are timing map changes at roughly those speeds, & the DG-3, is supposed ease the change over, & or keep it in the aggressive timing map ...

The next time someone talks to Scott from DGR, find out exactly what happens when the frequency changes at 50mph. The stock CDI will begin to retard at 6800 RPM's (50-55 mph for most people), and no input from any module has been able to overcome this. Some pretty bright minds in the ATV and the ignition system industry weren't able to overcome this obstacle, short of running a completely different igniter.

I talked with Scott from DG a long time ago and that is also what he told me about the speed sensor and changing with frequency change.

From what I understand, the stock Igniter never runs 28 degrees at idle, but can ramp to it if going a certain vehicle speed. The different modules chose different frequencies for some reason. The Brooks module, DG Holeshot, Nabor, HL, etc. use lower or higher values. I am not sure the effect, but red650 explained to me the difference between using a lower or higher frequency on mid range one time. I was told that the DG3 has five different ranges and outputs, but I don't know the numbers. Also I think the top end retarding begins at 6500RPM, not 6800RPM. The stock curve was posted by Sgt. Rock? when the Dyna was first released and may still be on his page somewhere.

There is another module and soon to be CDI with; module/CDI

My buddy just put one on his 650-CAT and can't stop talking about how fun it is to do wheelies. They called Fri. from Alberta and said it was shipped, it arrived in his Nova Scotia mailbox on Mon. You got to like that.

I'll find out this weekend just how good it works but sounds awsome.

It's working but I notice they have sound bytes of what sounds like a hopped up V, which when running dial-up is a bit much for the phoneline to handle. If you have a slow computer you might not be able to view it either, I had that problem with sites that have sound on them with my old computer.

I'll e-mail them and let them know, they just made it that way.

I can get their home page up and running good, but their link to their "products" page doesn't work.
