p700 has good results at ATV pull
#24
Thanks to everyone for all the advise. I took third place, at the pulls, last night, in the 0-300 cc class. I was running a Suzuki LT-160. As for my Prairie... Let's just say that no Polaris 700 stood a chance. However, I did fail to finish in the top 3, as there were other Prairies pulling as well. The top 3 spots went to two P700s and a P650. Good night for Kawasaki at the pulls!

Good job A-MAN... at that level ( the top 4-5 Prairies ), there are lots of little things that will make a difference, but tires are a major one, & the Mud Lites, while a good all around tire, are not the "best" tires for pulls... were there any specialized pulling tires ... like Pit Bulls, or the Super Puller tractor treads ??? these are widely used for garden tractor pulls, & they'll go on the quads pretty easily... I've had good luck, with Interco TSL's, but several of the "old" mud treads will work well for the average puller... tires with tread blocks that run as straight across the tire as possible, work well... like Black Waters, Realtors, Dirt Dogs, TSL's, the Big horns should also work pretty good, as well as Mud Bugs, Gators, & Out Laws... however on tires with taller lugs, the lugs will often "roll over", giving less traction than the shorter lugged tires... then of course the wider wheel you can mount them on, the flatter the tread profile will be... I use a set of custom 12" X 12" aluminum wheels front & rear...

Literally and figuratively!! The track was very hard packed, almost like cement. The quads that pulled the best were running worn down blackwaters and blackwater XTs, as well as worn stock tires. It was interesting to note that the top quad in both the 301-400cc, and 401-500cc class was a Bombardier Outlander Max 400HO. The longer wheelbase certainly seemed to make a huge difference...
