Default ITP 589s new belt

Is it possible my tires(27") are straining my OEM belt? I realize the belt is the weakest link should I try another belt if so how do I obtain this belt?

After you check and adjust or change your Belt, I'd invest in an EPI or Dalton Clutch Spring kit. Call them and they'll recommend the right setup. Larger tires robs your bottom end and a stiffer Secondary spring combined with a higher stall Primary will get those big tires moving quicker. Sorta like regearing for bigger tires on your 4 X 4 truck. New springs will return your lost power.

Tuffenuf,
Will this save my belt? I feel my ITP 589s are going to eat belts.

Keeping your belt properly adjusted, riding in Low Gear whenever possible, avoiding towing & pulling your buddies out of stucks/ruts, and or installing a stiffer secondary spring are the only things that will prolong your belt Life.

Majority of riders on this forum run a stiffer aftermarket secondary spring. I purchased the Outlaw clutch kit from Highlifter. It came with EPI Black secondary, red & orange Primaries. You can purchase springs cheaper for $25-30 each. With any Setup you choose periodic belt adjustment & keeping your clutch clean & dry will be keys to maximizing belt life.

Happy trails
