Default Please help my Prairie 650!!

Oh boy,am i ever frustrated and tired, ive been tryin to figure out why my dam# bike doesnt have any throttle response, ive been tryin different jetting schemes for like 3 days now,and so far nothing,my bike is running rich, according to my plugs ,anyways i started out with what dynojet told me to do,5th notch on the needle,132 main in back and 128 in front with fuel mixture screw turned 3 turns out,im well below 1000 ft,infact im only 200 feet above sea level. My mods are cdi box, nyroc muffler mod, Dalton clutch kit, thats pretty much all of my mods that would require jetting anyways. Now,tonight i removed the main jets listed above and put 124 in front and 128 in the back, moved the clip on the needle from the 5th notch to the 3rd notch, and still,i have to pump the throttle easy cause it will feel like it wants to stall out if i give it to much throttle right away, i realize that in fact im leaning the bike out with this setup but still at higher speeds,it still seems to be sluggish when i punch the throttle. When i test the bike, its on a jack,so im free wheeling,no friction if you will, would this give a false reading? Anyways,SO,im set to be lean(i think) plugs are sooty black, not wet,but not tan brown either, and no quick throttle response, also my carbs make this harsh sound when i snap the throttle, like a backfiring, maybe like when an air tool is removed from the hose, please guys dont make me take my bike to the dealer, please,i beg you!! What do i try next??

Ditch your dynojet kit and put Keihen 142 jet in front nad 145 jet in back and you will be fine. Might want to add the napa hose or dg snorkel to your air box.

I want to install the Diamond G snorkel and the DG3 module, and finally a K&N air filter (#KA-6502). Will I need to rejet? I already shimmed the carbs with the #4 Radio Shack washer and sync'd up the carbs, plugs look real good too.

Make sure you have your air box cover on and filter installed when you try it.
