Default Boyou 400 clutch release

I need a little help understanding the clutch release setup. Currently it is very hard for me to shift gears on my 4x4 Boyou. I pulled off the clutch release cover. What do the top and bottom screws do exactly?

Thanks in advance!

Per the Clymer Bayou manual

The top screw is the clutch adjuster

The procedure is as follows

1 Loosen the clutch adjuster screw locknut
2 Turn the adjuster screw clockwise until resistance is felt, then stop
3 From this point, turn the adjuster screw counter-clockwise until resistance is felt, then stop
4 Retighten the locknut

Hope this helps

I have a KLF 400 Bayou also. Did the adjustment take care of your problem? Mine seems to have a clicking or clanging noise at idle. I bought it apart and rebuilt the top end. Started right up and runs great but just has the niose at idle. oes yours?
