Default New FST STP800 ready for testing this weekednd

I have a vforce 700 with muzzy equal length single exhaust, pink clutch spring, jetting,k+n.
Doth my eyes deceive me? did you say your friend is getting a 900cc kit? I am always looking for more power, Can you tell me where I can learn more about where to find this motor kit? Who makes a 900cc kit for the vforce? Thanx, Jim

Update:

I have finaly got most of the bugs out now. Just FYI when doing a big bore be aware you can no longer vent the crank case into the air box, those big jugs will force oil into your carbs everytime. I also had to swap the coolant for water wetter and remove the stat. So far it seems to be working fine now. I also had some street tires made up for dyno testing and now have some real numbers to report on both the 700 and the 800.

The 800 is running 51HP & 72#'s of TQ
The 700 is running 37HP & 59#'s of TQ (added a dyno jet kit was running 33HP and 55#'s of TQ)
STK 700 is running 32HP & 52#'s of TQ (I had a buddy's stock STP700 tested to get a base for comparison)
The 650 is running 32HP & 56#'s of TQ (same modds as my 700 less the new jet kit, The CDI made the biggest difference on this quad)

CC1999,

I am curious about your HP numbers I have recently reworked my quad with basic modds to the engine I am running at 73 HP without a big bore is there something you haven't done to get it a little higher. For instance have you had the heads ported and possibly longer duration cams pllus have the cams timed.

My list of modds are,
Wiseco high compression pistons,
FST cams, cams timed,
Head porting

I must also add I had dyno readings from the crank yours might be from the rear wheel in which case your numbers would be reasonable.

Bingo! There in lies the difference. cc1999s numbers are good for a rear wheel dyno.

Alltoys, what turn around time should I expect if I were to ship my Prairie's engine to Ray to have his 80 HP package done?

Thats correct, my numbers are at the rear wheels with a special set of 24.8 tall car tires on them, they are very heavy though, you might add 3-5 HP with stock quad tires. The 800 however was slipping on the dyno with nobby tires and we could not get good numbers at all, the HP was down to 40HP and TQ was about 50 with bighorns. My other two dyno out within 1-2 hp of the car tires with dirt hook stocker type tires, The nobby tires are to soft and slip to much to trust the numbers so we retested all of the quads last week with the car tires and the above numbers were the results.

Ps. The 800 does have flowed heads and new HP cams. We estimate you can add about 30-35 HP to get some kind of idea about the crank dyno numbers, The belt / shaft drive systems robs alot of power and so does the heavy tires.

Outerlimit,
Make sure Ray has the parts and it shouldn't take more than a week to resleave the motor, fine tune it and send it back. Customs is a big hasle they want your first born. Ray sends his sleaves and cores to Quebec they do excellent work as that is all they do there. The bore is precise and the sleave is decked properly. If a motor machine shop can not warranty their work then there is no point sending them anything. There are some hot rod shops that don't warranty their work, DON'T GO THERE. If Ray has all the parts and from the time he sends out the sleaves and gets them it back it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks before you get your motor back.

cc1999,
Some day I will run my quad up against an 800 then I will see how my little modds will compare. From what I have seen and dyno results at Rays my motor is very close and at half the price. I can add a little Nos and will hit the 90 HP range possibly closer to 100 HP but that will have to wait till next spring. You have given realistic results with your quad fine tuning is a major contributor to HP. Even a stock motor can be vastly improved when it is tuned. Good luck with your quad I think a little more work and you will have a major contender.
