The faster u go the more it hurts line is BS i mean to a point yese but if i had a 1000cc bike and i was doing 180+ its not going to hurt at all, im just going to die. and that brings me to my point. Fast bikes are fine, they just dont need to be bought that way. the problem comes when noobs go and buy a nice big bike and try to push it, and they crash cause they dont know WTF there doing.

There is always going to be a bigger and badder bike comming out, dissplacment doesnt mean as much as it used to. Also were i live if i had a bike over 800CC it would be street legal!!!! i think???

1 question if anyone knows, if bought a BF and borred it to like 870 or 850 would it no longer be a atv, and thus be street leagal, cause it is not a atv anymore?

The only restriction about engine size i've seen is 125cc or greater for the highway. Kawasaki makes a 250cc ninja that is legal in all states. I'll bet that there are other barriers to this in your state.

If you had a 750 bored out so that it was over 800cc it wouldnt matter. Your quad would still be registered with the state with the stock displacement.

a liter quad..........no thanks..........the brute is already pushing the envelop of USEABLE power for trial riding. plus that would probaly make the sp800 look like a light weight.

as far as streeting a quad. you'd have to have mirrors, turnsignals, reverse lights, horn, and DOT tires to be legal in most states. not very easy to do.

Hummer is building a 1000cc ATV. It will weigh around 900lbs from what I understand. It will be basically a mini HumV.

Rumors are cool, huh?

... STOP THE MADNESS!!! Really though, Anything over 800cc would then subject the ATV unallowable on public trails and what not. Heh-- even the Polaris '800' is only really 760cc and weighs a heluva lot, too. This 1000 cc rumor business is just that-- a rumor.

Well we will soon see in a few years or so, the rumur came from a real ATV mag and its still on there web site

I believe they will do it, just look at Kawi they increased by 50cc every year, at this pace we will see a 1000 in under 5 years!

Listen remember in the early 90's when a 650cc Snowmobile was the biggest and baddest thing around, and everyone said they wont dare get bigger. Well big news they did, and were over 1000cc today!

Same in Watercraft and Motocycles. Atv's are way beheind in power compard to the rest of the toys out there.

look at the watercrafts in the early 90's. 500cc to 650cc, 35hp's to 55hp's and speed between 30 and 40mph was the fastest and badest thing monie could buy!!!!

10 years later!!! "actually in the past 3 years"
Were at 1500cc, 215hp Supercharged four-stroke, three-cylinder and with top speeds of over 70mph

Trust me it will happen in ATV's also

... Yes, granted Daranello75, I remember when I worked at a Honda dealership in 1984 when the ATC hoopla was on- ahhh memories, and you were somebody if you had something with 200cc or over. It's just the current land use restrictions currently in place won't allow something this big. And yeah- I personally think that there are gonna be another bunch of idiots that get this over- powered thing and then the lawsuits are gonna staart all ovver again. Because God knows-- people can't take care of themselves...
