Default Dirt Wheels Shootout...Brute THIRD place?

Nope, had a brute for the weekend with bighorns, worst handling quad I've ever been on. Way worse than the grizz I traded in on my p-700. Was gonna trade in my p-700 on a bf when i tried the brute in the parking lot (power!!!), glad I got in some seat time before i made that mistake. I'll wait for the 800sra next year[/

I wouldnt base your opinion on a ride thru the parking lot.... or did you actually ride it thru the woods

Those people who think that the BF does not handle well either rode with stockers or is on Crack!

I ride in all types of terrain, mud, tight twisty offcamber singletrack, hills and my bf performs flawlessly.

In all the forums that I participate in I have only seen 2 people that have traded or sold their brute, ALL the others wouldnt trade it for anything

I rode the brute in the parking lot but suspected that the handling may not be to my liking. (when you stand on one floorboard as you are getting on the bike, that side will drop about three inches---major body roll----this does not happen on a sra.

anyway, I made the dealer give me his quad for the weekend if he wanted the sale. When I brought it back I told him no way..doesn't handle worth ........

BTW, no it didn't have stockers (25" Bighorns) and no I'm not on CRACK. I've owned more ATV's in the past 5 years than I care to admit, and I'll say that the Brutes engine is the only thing I prefer over my P-700

700Hemi, Of course it's not going to handle like a SRA quad. I don't think anyone in their right mind would expect it to. What setting were the shocks on? How much time do you have on an IRS machine? Have you ever ridden one? Also, you must have a great dealer to let you have a new 7,000.00+ quad for a whole weekend. He would have to sell it as used when it was returned. I've bought 5 quads from my dealer and know him quite well and he wouldn't give me a new quad for an entire weekend to ride as I wanted. You just might be on crack or be in a fantasy land. Or you have the best dealer around. Anyway, I was not impressed with the way my Brute handled at first, but when I took the worthless stockers off and replaced them with XTRs the handling improved greatly. I have no problems at all with the handling now nor does anyone else who has ridden it. I strongly suggest you stick with the P700. The SRA quad seems to be the one for you. The Prairie is a great quad.

I wouldn't believe anything you read in the magazines....

Not sure why they didn't test the 800 EFI instead of using the 700....

I think the BF would win this competition if they changed the suspension. I have the 700 EFI, my riding partner has the BF, it doesn't handle for crap on quick riding. He is now selling it and going to get an 800 EFI. Maybe I'll buy it from him. I'll contact progressive and see if I can get some different springs and then change out the tires, should be one sweet machine.
