JUst out of curiousity, How often do you change your drive belt? Do you typically drive in high or low range? What are your driving habbits?

Drive in low range whenever possible. Do not tow or put heavy load on atv CVT in High range. Belt life is dependent on use and keeping belt properly adjusted. You can smoke a belt in an afternoon pulling yur buddies out of mudholes. Typically when belts ar adjusted they last 1000-1500 miles or more. Best way is to do deflection check periodically and shim as required. Change belt when deflection is out of limits or visible damage to belt is noted.

Definately; Plow in Low. Low will take you as fast as you need to go plus give you plenty torque.

Here are some good belt tips for ya:

1. Use LOW gear when going 18mph or less. There is NO reason to leave it in high when trudging through mud or on slow trails.

2. Towing, pulling, carrying = LOW gear

3. Avoid too many "launch" starts or burnout attempts

4. Use the brakes to slow the vehicle, don't just rely on engine braking...this takes a good load off the belt.

5. Use brakes when going down steep hills...trust me.

6. If you run 27" or bigger wheels/tires I'd advise you upgrade the suspension or add a lift kit.

I personally have almost 1100 miles on my Brute with 26" c-rims & 589's and the belt is in perfect working order.
