Default belt gone bad

Has anyone ever had _THIS_ happen to there 700 belt? I'am running the EPI black spring and the tension is a little on the tight side but still within specs. Any help??? The belt has about 1000kms on it and it was about -26c when it gave out.

Yes. I had a P700 belt peel it's top cogs at around 250 miles. It happened at the end of a long top speed run. I was running full throttle, on asphalt, for about 1.5 miles. I had just backed off and was running about 40 mph up a hill when it sounded like someone had dumped a few handfuls of gravel in my clutch cover. I drove home (only a little over a 100 yards) at a walking speed. When I opened the cover, I discovered that the top cogs had seperated from the belt for a length of about 5 inches. I replaced the belt w/ a new P700 belt and have not had a problem in almost 1000 miles, so I really do not know why the belt came apart. I suppose that there are the occasional "bad" belts....
