It isn't screwing up the belt system, it just isn't allowing the light to be reset. It isn't affecting the belt system at all.

I do have the bad model numbers of the igniters if you are interested in checking to see if your 4 wheeler is affected by this recall.

Let me rephrase that. I wonder why the CDI circuit is mixed in with the belt light system. I would think they're two completely different systems. When my Priairie failied, it wouldn't go into four wheel drive, the actuator stopped working, and it finally went into "limp" mode. It took the local dealer 4 weeks to figure out what the heck went wrong. When the mechanic said it was the ignitor, I just figured he really meant the actuator controller since they both sit next to one another under the seat.

I would definitely be interested in knowing if my V-Force igniter is on that list. I just bought it last October, but haven't received a recall letter yet.

A good thing about the Vs is that they don't do the shutdown that the Prairies do when the belt light comes on. You can ride a V indefinitely wth the belt light on.

The bad igniters have a part number of 21119-1629 (Some have the part number of 21119-0032. These are all good).

Under this number is a long number that you don't have to pay any attention to and then a 4 digit number. This 4 digit number is one that you can use to see if your igniter (or CDI) is one of the bad ones that should have been recalled. This is called the LOT NUMBER. Any lot number that starts with 2 is good. Any lot number that is 3005 and below are good.Any lot number that is 3006 and above are BAD

Hope this helps you out.
