Default Bayou 1995 good bike?

I am looking for a new quad for my 12 year old daughter. Called on a 1995 Bayou 220 in the local camera ads. The owner wants $1400 for it. I haven't seen it yet so I am unsure of its shape. I also know nothing about the Bayou 220. Does that sound fair on the price? I will negotiate of course. Was the 95 electric start and equiped with reverse? Any help would be great. Man its hard to find an affordable mid size quad.

........I started out with an 89 220 Bayou.......needed 4x4 so I gave it to my wife and got an Eiger.
The price sounds fine if the quad is. The Bayou is a bullet-proof machine....just maintain it.
When traction is of no consequence, the Bayou will run side by side with the 400 Eiger......and I do believe it will probably take more abuse than the 400.........it really is a tough bike !

Go with a Bigger CC 220 isnt really all that great of a quad. Then again its a utility not a performance quad. I say as long as its not gonna be riden to hell then go for it. Trail and work is whats its good for and alittle mud too. I would get a newer one like a 99 or 00 cant trust them once there past 5 years like my 300 bayou 86

1400 bucks is a little steep. Either that or this thing hasto be pristine. I forked over $1400 for a '97 Lakota last year; just to give ya a little perspective. But then again I also had to drive 600miles to get it.

yeah 1400 is a little up there...i could find a 2001 for 1600-1700 without any problems...i got my bayou 250 for 3200.. brand new last year...bayou's are great quads and last forever...they are great for working around the house and perfect for a first quad or anyone that want to just ride around and have some fun...i like the bayou for working around my house...but see how much he will got down...id say if you can get it for 1200 and its in great condition than go for it...they had electric start and reverse then too on them...
