How often, miles or hours, should I change the oil in my ATV... ? Also how often to change the front and rear end fluids??

here is my opinion on oil changes, I run Royal Purple 10w-40 and it is a full synthetic car oil. I still change mine out every three months, I don't think that I could put enough miles on that four wheeler to break down the oil just have always changed my car oils every 3mths/3000 miles even full synthetic. Just to expensive of an investment not to put a little time and money into maintaining it. Also the service manual recommends that you change the front and rear fluids every year of use. Hope this helps or gets others to respond.

 

I use Mobile 1, 15-50 automobile oil. I have been running it for several years and like full synthetics. I usually change oil around the 20-30 hour mark.

 

i run 10w-30 all year round. i change all the oil (engine, front and rear diff.) twice a year (once in the fall once in the spring) depending on how much i ride it i might change it during the summer, i replace the filter every other change. i tried useing 10w-40 full synthetic but for some reason the synthetic stuff seemed to leak out around the seals on the engine, so i switched back to non-synthetic and it has been fine since.
