If power's useless why are you on a 750?

Get yourself an Eton 90 or something...

Power, power, power.... is there ever any end to it? The BF750 is too slow now is it? What do you clowns really want from this hobby? Lemme ask some questions:

1. Do you drag race your ATV a lot? Can I ask WHY?
2. How many flat long straights are there in the woods? Not many in my woods!
3. Where do you ride? On the focking highway with Bridgestone touring tires?
4. Why dont you just get into drag racing? It will be cheaper and you can have ALL the power you could ever want with no end in sight.

In the REAL world, as in trails and woods riding, all of this crazy top end speed is USELESS. I repeat USELESS. When your trudging through mud, snow, tight trails.... WTF does 60hp get you? Why not just have 500hp? 1000hp?

Sorry, but this is getting extremely dumb.

I'll just have to SETTLE for the obnoxious power of my Brute and lose drag races to Bombardiers. Yeah, it is very *common* to drag race Bombardiers in the woods..... yeah..... common.

Drive a high HP quad and see what its like. The feeling is awesome, your arms stretch out, the wheels point up, you see blue sky, a very nice feeling. Being able not only turn your tires in mud but sping them at 20 mph requires high HP. Not everyone does this sort of thing but for the people who do this is what they want.

For the people who are content with a 500 or 300 thats great, we all have different driving methods. Me, I'm addicted to power and I drive my dad's Vinson 500 and it felt very weak.

There will be a limit in place eventually though, I do think the motors are getting way to big, they need to make them more efficient not bigger. Its all marketing and money, the way the world is run.

Sure.....at my hunting lease and our ranch there are very few places that you can get you quad over 50mph. BUT........there is a big difference when trying to pull a 1500lb dear stand that is made from oil field pipe to a new location. My brother has a 360prairie 4x4 and it is a great quad, but it can't even budge the deer stand. My 700 prairie and my 750 brute force have no problems. So, there you see why some of us like the massive power and torque.

lol, it was a storage barn. We jacked it up in the air and I backed a 6X13 trailer under it and then we dropped the barn on the trailer so I was pulling at least 2000lbs through the back yard. The barn was about 7X10. I was impressed, thought I might smoke my belt but the Brute had power to spare.

vtprarie went over to the Kawi/ Bomb dealier in Swanton, VT today. They told him that the msrp on the Bomb 800 is going to be $8300. With all the hype around it, I am betting that they won't be selling them for much less than msrp. If the hype is true, I certainly wouldn't mind having one though. I have ridden the Outlander 400 and it is a super handling quad stock from the floor.

Weight has a big factor in that too, thats where the Polaris's stand out. THEY can PULL, I know I had one. CC's don't really mean anything, its how you get that power to the wheels.

Yes you are correct, but hp and torque do mean something. My brothers 360 prairie had all of the traction in the world, but not the cc's to pull the deer stand. On the other hand, I had the cc's and the traction. Weight plays an important role and that is why polaris are rated to pull more, but even if you have a heavy machine and good traction, but not enough power to turn the wheels, it is useless.
