Default Where to get service for a 650 prairie

Low gear went out on my prairie (high works fine). Can anyone recommend a good place in SE Michigan or Northern Ohio. I am kind of burned out on Nicholsons charging (110$ just to look at anything) so any other suggestions appreciated. I want to get it in ASAP

Thanks,
Dennis

You might try artic cat, or suzuki dealers in your area, they both sell quads with the Kawi setup . I use my Artic Cat dealer now since my Kawi dealer really jacked me around.

You sure low went out and it's not just your shifter being out of adjustment? Does it feel like it is slipping a tooth in the tranny when you are on the gas in low? Does it do the same thing when you are descending a steep hill? (ratcheting sound?) If it's doing this, then your low gear is fine. It's your shifter that is out of adjustment and needs to be fixed asap. If your shifter is out of whack, the shift linkage doesn't engage the tranny into gear all the way when the shifter is put into gear. One thing to do to check this out is to remove the plastic from around the shifter **** (all the colored plastic around the airbox and shift lever. Remove the black plastic piece that has the notches in it that the shifter slides into when you put it in gear. (the piece that has R,N,H,and L on it). Fire up your quad, put it in low gear and go for a quick rip. If it doesn't make the sound and feel like it's slipping a gear, your shifter is definitely the culprit.
