Prairie Handlebar Upgrade
#1
I'm looking for advise for upgrading my Prairie 650 handlebars. We ride mostly high speed (40 to 65 mph) fire roads. The pot holes, ruts and high speed turns are taking a toll on my thumbs, wrist and shoulders. I have been told that the Fasst Flex Handlebars are the answer to my issues. Has anyone put these handlebars on their Prairie and do they help with the type of riding I do?
The second question is, what height riser would you use to get the flex handlebars back up to the stock height. The third and last question, can you mount your instrument cluster below the handlebars for protection, if so, who sells it?
Thanks for any and all responses.

2 of my buddies have installed the Flexx handlebars (for GNCC use and trailriding, etc.). Both reported to me that they liked them alot, but did not take all of the pounding out of the quad...for that, you need better suspension. Traindog71 on the other forum is one of the guys I'm talking about...send him a PM and he can give you better feedback than me b/c I've not personally tried the flex bars yet.
As far as the risers, I think Fox makes risers, but not sure if they are the ones that fit on the Prairie or not. I believe Mike Penland sells the mount for the speedo. Give him a call at 706-746-2812. he can probably give you feedback on the flex bars and risers too!
Happy trails...

Check into the Elka Front Strut Kit. I think its close in cost to a new set of handle bars and from what I read it kicks the stock struts butt. It will reduce body roll in the corners and handle the bumps and pot holes alot better. Now only if they'd make a set for the 360 Prairie.
