I would not do business with a relative on a bet, hard feelings if somebody feels taken, etc.
That said, if your cousin-in-law <u>maintained</u> the bike, took real good care of it mechanically, and did not ride in the mud too much, it's a pretty good deal. Most mechanical damage comes from being in the mud a lot, and not maintaining it after <u>every</u> mud ride.
