BF 650 or P 700 Which one Please Help!!!
Hello all. I am going to buy either one of these quads this week. Both are 2005 models. The BF is Camo and is selling for 5800 and the Praire is dark green selling for 600. The prairie is at a local dealer and the BF is out of state. It will take about $100 in gas to get there. I really don't care which one is faster because I am not about racing. All I am asking for is some guidance on which one is the better deal. I really like the camo and it is cheaper. Please let me know the pluses and minuses based on experience. Thanks, Drew

I will go with P700 which is a slightly updated version of 650. Only "practical" advantage of the camo 650 that I can think is that it is camo which can hide scratches and other plastic blemishes - but it can peel off. The P700 is from a local dealer that you can easily go to if you even need to - some dealers give priority to customers who bought from them. The P700 has the power of near 750 and the agility of the SRS 650 - best of the both.

It comes down to wich one you like more. I like the way the BF looks so I went with it. They are both good bikes.
The Camo holds up really well. No dulling or scratching. I plow through teh brush with myne all the time and the plastic is holding up very good.

The plastic is allot better on the Brute 650sra than it brother the Prairie, but the prairie does have a slight power advantage. The brute has a 500 buck price advantage that could help with the modds that would make it just as powerfull as the prairie. Same mods fit the prarie so with those mods the prairie can be just as fast as the brute 750. Thats the main differnces now the choice is up to you. If power is your thing then I would go with the prairie and when the plastic is shot put brute SRA plastic back on when you replace it you are looking at about a 600.00 est. bill but thats a while down the road.

i agree with hayashi, might ought to think about the dealership thing. When i take mine in for anything, they always put me up in line for buying from them and laugh at the non-buyers bikes sittin out under a tent building. if you want the brute, i'm sure that dealer could get you one in a few days. my dealer got mine in virginia the next day. my honest opinion would be the p700, even though i have the brute 650. they are about the same though really. 100 bucks in gas isnt worth being in back of the line from here on out!

I'm in the same situation. However, I've decided to go with the BF because of the plastics. I've read that they're a lot better on the BF but I've also read that a couple of riders feel there is a design flaw, ie. the black sticks out too far behind the rider and will catch, ripping across into the red.I dunno...I've looked and measured but I can't come to that conclusion myself. I think anything has got to be better than ther plastics on the Prairie.

If both bikes are '05, they have the same type of base plastic for fenders, Polypropylene. You will find PPE stamped underside of the fenders on BOTH BF650 and P700 on the '05 models whether camo or not.
However, BF650 does not have the black fender trim (or you may call fender flares) that P700 has. The black trim pieces can be ripped off from the fender if get caught by brushes, branches or whatever when riding in tight trails.

The black trim plastic on the prairies is very brittle and tends to crack if the screws are to tight, then again if the screws are two loose then they fall out. We finaly just spent a few hours per machine and put locktite on the threads of each screw and put then all back together just snug not tight. We have also had the black plastic split do to winds from the trailering to the ride areas. The lack there of the trim plastid or fender flairs is a plus IMO. I also though the BF plastick had a differnt thickness and glossyness to them but I am not 100% on that part but they do feal more ridged than the prairie plastic IMO.

go with the 700.
then any performance parts you put on will only make it that much faster.
if you do that with the 650 it will only be as fast as the 700 stock.
also if you put plastic rivits in the 700s fenders then instead ofthe nuts and bolts you wont be ripping the plastic off and braking it, just the rivits will pop with hardly any damage.
then you wont have bad plastic.
or you can do what i did and cut all the flares off.
its better this way for bush riding and i think it looks alright too.
check out my pics and see what i mean about cutting off the flares.
good luck.
