Default Power difference? 650 vs 650i

Is there a difference in power between the 2? I bought a BF 650 yesterday, don't get me wrong, it runs good to be such a big bike, but after reading some posts here, it seems that everyone is talkin about the 650i, so I was wondering if they had more power and if they do, how much more?

The hp output should be the same. The diffrnce is how much rotating mass,I could be wrong ,not knowing the weight dif in the two bikes but the 650i should have more rotating weight witch make for less power at the wheels.

From what I've read on here the 650i has a little more power than the 650 by a couple of hp. But you know how that goes sometimes.

From what I understand its the tranny gears that are lighter and something else lightened up in the motor, there for less internal rotating mass, I think!!! I hope Kawi starts putting the 650i motor in the BF 650, I mean why make two different 650 motors ????

According to the CA emission, the bf650 has 41.4hp while the bf 650i has 46.5hp. So yes there is a big difference.

Isn't the bf650 SRA a 633cc motor and the bf650i a 649cc motor? I thought they were the same, but in one of my recent ATV magizines they had listed in the specs of the bf650i has being 649cc. And, since Arctic Cat is dropping their 650v2, I believe kawie is strickly making that motor for the SRA bf650. But, I could be totally wrong about the displacement.

Also, I heard the compression is slightly different between the two, but not sure if that is the gosple truth either.

Both are 633cc. The 650i has 750 heads and a few other things as well as a different cdi and compression ratio. Different machines all together if you ask me. Comes down to if you want IRS or not. Like Monty said, get a dynatek or VDI and it'll be just as fast and handle better than the 650i.
