Sorry about the double post. But modding any EFI quad is easier although more expensive than a carb. If you can plug in and turn some screws you can mod an EFI. You just have to watch your plug.

my brute goes 80+ miles per tank on normal terrain if i can use high range at least part of the tim
80+miles?!?!?!?! Umm how bout me's and you's swap brutes eh. The only way my 650i is seein 80 miles on a tank is if im bein towed by someone to get more gas lol. I agree with toyeboy, i consider suzuki quality to be pretty good, suzuki 125 3-wheeler was my first ride years ago har. But damn, ive added it up at about 160miles put on my brute ive spent around $50-60 bucks on fuel...yikes. Just get the 650i bud, i myself think they are made very well, kawi bf drivetrain has few moving parts is pretty much directly inline, not as much technical crap strung everywhere like most others, and the irs appears solidly made, and ive noticed there are very few reported problems with brute forces. GL with choice though -joe

3)Suzuki KingQuad 700
Pros- Most power of the three. 65 Horsepower.

The KQ700 makes around 44 hp. The bf650i makes 47hp. That doesn't mean the KQ is not good, but on the contrary. The only thing that currently makes hp in the 60's is the bomb800efi @ 64hp. Then followed by the kawie bf750i @ 54 and then the polaris 800efi @ 51hp.

But, don't dismiss the KQ because it doesn't have the HP as the others. The mid and upper power band is good and will top out around 68-71 MPH.

My gut is now with the BF650i so this friday/saturday I am going to try to haggle with dealers within 300 miles and see what I can come away with.

Why am I going with the 650i?
1)Seems like there is more support in a positive way on these forums. (kawieriders, highlifter, NYROC, atvfrontier)
2)I am not going to base my purchase on the outcome of a CDI on the KingQuad. Everyone is waiting with baited breath for a CDI to help them.
3)Even though it is the only one with a carb.. I feel like I am not losing out. I can jet and rejet with the best of them.. so the EFI seems like overkill right now.
4)A Camo Brute with black wheels..is downright sexy.. Shes Got Looks that Kill. (LOL)

5)Last but not least.. I have owned 4 Suzukis, 3 Hondas, 1KTM. I have never owned a Kawi, and the last time my finger was on the button for an ATV I was going to buy the P700. I want to give kawi a shot.. because deep in my heart I am really really waiting for KTM to get into the Utility ATVs.

6)Honda-- I have 2 wonderful Honda Cars, a Honda Mower, and the bikes and ATVs I have owned have all been bulletproof. If Honda would get rid of that slug 650/680 and put a twin in there I think they could have a decent run.
Dont get me wrong, the Rincon is a cadillac in the same tone that a Goldwing vs. Harley fight. I am just not in the mood or mindframe for a pure cadillac.

So thanks guys for your help. I live about 15 miles from Hatfield/Mccoy in WV... so I am sure we can hook up if you are ever this way. I wrote a report a month ago about other trails here locally that put H/M to shame.. I am really blessed in the area I have to ride in.. with H/M in my backyard and other trails that are much larger.

I will probably start a new thread asking OTD for the 650i so I know what kind of numbers I have to play with. My usual method is to find the lowest OTD price and offer them $200 over that, but I always hold firm on my lowest until they are ready to watch me drive away, then I add the other $200 and see.

I think they did read it LOL. I called about 20 dealers today. The price ranged from $6276 to $7449. I posted another thread about my price dilemma. I can get a 2007 for $6800 or a 2006 for $6276... I dont think there were any changes made.. in the 2007s... so I might end up with the cheaper one. Any advice? Is this a fair deal or keep lookin?

I'd go with the 06 and save roughly $500. But (isn't there always a but) if you turn around and want to trade it or resell it, its already a year old. Brand new but a year old.
I think you will be more than happy with your purchase. I've heard good things about the Brute. I haven't gotten to ride one yet, but look forward to riding one.

Hey rinman, is it fairly easy to jet yourself? I was looking at the dial a jet, but was wondering if its really all its cut out to be. I get mixed messages on doing jets myself, ive nevr done it, and was wondering if it was easier than it sounds. Otherwise, i am fairly confident in putting on the dial a jet mtself, i think

v2rider,

I know the jetting question was for Rinman, but I thought I would give u my 2 cents worth. Jetting is very easy! If you know how to turn bolts and screws you can rejet.

How do you know if you get it right or wrong? Your spark plug is your guide. See article at http://www.4strokes.com/tech/sparkplg.asp

How to jet: http://www.4strokes.com/tech/howtojet.asp

Jet Kits: http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/ann...ouncementid=37

Some people do not like jet kits, they like to do their own recipes for sucess. I have used JD Jetting in 5 of my 4strokes and I was very happy. If your ATV has 34MM Kehin Carbs, chances are that a dirtbike will have the same carb, and you can use thier setups in your situation.

The jetting is easy. Getting the carb flipped over is a pain. The jets can be changed with a screwdriver. Please do not pay someone to do this.
