I would say the float in the float bowl is not lifting high enough to stop the flow of fuel.....you can usually bend a tab that rests on the needle to shut the fuel off as the float rises a little bit......you will need to tear the bottom of the carbs off and have a see...

Chances are, if your floats were adjusted right before, they are still right. But they are probably stuck. Being upside down has let something move and bind. Sometimes you can tap the bottom of the carbs with something like a screw driver handle and jar the floats loose.

So what did you do to fix it? Did tapping on the bottem work, or did you have to tear into them? I had a old Warrior that used to do that to me every onece in a while. I'd have to tear into the carb right there on the trail, to get the float unstuck. Not sure what used to cause that. Same thing, though, fuel pouring out....

You get a detailed cd rom on ebay that will have the service manual on it.
Also today I just insured my BF 750 at atv-line .com for 165.00 a year. Sounds like that might come in hady too.
Good luck and sorry to hear about your quad and your Son in law. Hope all is well soon,
