I have a '94 Bayou 220 with a few problems:
1) Then I try to start it using the elec. starter the starter will spin sounds like gears not meshing, I can let off the switch and try again (maybe two or three times) and the gears will catch correctly and the engine will start. Is this a bad bendix or something? I can use the pull rope and one or two pulls and it starts no problem.
2) Then I keep the engine opened up 3/4 throttle or more for about 3/4 to 1 mile the engine seems to want to stall out. Do I need to adjust the carb, or get lighter foot. I used to not have this problem.
3) Has anyone had any problems with the float sticking and running all the fuel out of the tank. I can remember then the 4wheeler was new it would overflow a small puddle every once an while, but this seems to become more of a problem.

1). Starter
It could be as simple as sticking spring and/or worn out one-way starter clutch rollers.
2). Stalling
It seems your main jet is clogged up, making the carb running too lean near WOT.
3). Float Sticking
Your float valve seat may have worn out or old gas got gummed up between the matinc surface and the fuel keeps over flowing. Yes, you need some real good carb cleaing. If the quad ran fine before with the same carb, you should not change or adjust anything on the carb.
