I May Have a problem bf 650
Ok I may have a problem with my Bf 650 that I got about a week ago. The other day I was out riding with my brother in law and wile we were crossing a cornfeld I hit a caped water well that was covered by weeds and field debris the cap was about 6in high and 2 feet round. I was lucky in that I saw it just before I hit it because I would of probably of been thrown-ed, but I deflected of the side of it and took a nice hit to my wheel. The the out side rim of the wheel was is bent in about 4-6 inches in length and appears to be just surface damage at the time I felt lucky because when I hit there was a pop and thought for sure I blew the tire. Any way we continued our ride and we ended up on a hard road and I opened it up this is the first time I have had it on a hard road. I started to get a bad shake in the steering once we returned home I hosed down my atv and look for any noticeable damage thinking that I may of bent the swing arm. I did not find any bend/ creases in the metal or any chipped paint. Now I am also running ITP mudding tires so I am wondering if it was just the soft composite tire I am running not liking the hard road or could there be damage that I can not see.

Well... I have ITP Mudlites and anything over about 50mph the front end vibrates a little too much. When I put the stock tires and rims back on everything is great. I'm not saying that all of your vibration is coming from your tires, but I know mine is. Did you swich rims when you began to run the mudlites, or are they mounted on the stock rims?

To answer you question I am running stock rims. I took it out for a quick ride tonight and found a quited spot of hard road, I hammered on it and the vibrations did not seem too bad at 40mph. I did notice that it is pulling slightly to the right more so at slower speeds. The problem is that I have no basis on how this machine handled before on hard surface to decide if it is just the way it handles or if there is damaged.

what kind of atv does your brother in law have? Maybe, just maybe, you can borrow his front tires (if they fit) and see if the wobble is still there. Or maybe you know someone else with rims that will fit just for a quick test run. I am in agreement that it is probably something with the rim. Try putting your bike on a stand so your tires spin freely and see if there is a lot of visual variance in the rim/tire when it spins. I havent had mudding tires so I dont know if that could be the problem, but the bottom line is that if you are getting a wobble, something is off balance. I hope these suggestions help.
