Hot Prairie 300
I have a 2000 praire 300 4x4 and this is what I did.....remove the gas tank and make sure insulation is in position, add more if nessary. If it is loose and hanging it will block air flow. I ordered a fan from msc electronics, an online co. it is 12v dc and is weather prof, ball bearing and extremely low amp draw. The cost was only $30.00 shipped and it is a 4" dia fan in a alum frame. Moves around 300 cfpm. Mounted it in front of the oil cooler and installed a switch. I had only experienced the excess heat when slow trail riding but now, heat is no problem. Not only does this cool the oil but also blows back across the head. Be sure to use pure synthetic oil has the thermal breakdown is considerably higher than petroleom based oils. I choose Amsoil 10w-40 and have never had any problems in any of my quads and all are aircooled. Hope this helps...

Took mine out again this past weekend....still the same. Might just be the type of riding I do. Mainly slow paced through the mud filled trails down by the creek. Not a whole lot of space to ride at a constant high speed. Looking into the wrap and the fan right now. Thanks for the replies.
